About

Kirk Anderson is a technical executive with 19+ years building sensor systems, computer vision products, data platforms, and AI-enabled applications. His background spans MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he developed infrared imaging systems for missile defense (work later acquired by Anduril Industries), to General Dynamics, where he led systems engineering for next-generation electro-optical products including augmented reality sights and sensor fusion systems.

Most recently, Kirk served as Head of Product and Acting CTO at GRAX, an enterprise data platform serving Fortune 100 customers including State Farm, Home Depot, Dell, and Amazon. He owned product strategy, engineering direction, and AI platform architecture for a platform managing petabytes of customer data.

Kirk is a mentor at Techstars and MassChallenge, advising early-stage founders on product strategy and technical architecture. Selected consulting clients include Dust Identity (Series B), InVivo Biosystems (NIH), and IIOT-OXYS.

How I work

Critical Point provides fractional CTO leadership and product development for companies building sensor systems, computer vision, edge AI, and connected devices. I work with founders and technical teams from early concept through production, bringing the rigor of defense and aerospace engineering to startup speed.

My engagements typically involve defining product and system architecture, building or leading technical teams, evaluating build-vs-buy decisions, and translating complex technical work into clear narratives for investors and customers. Whether you need a technical co-founder for a few months or ongoing advisory support, I scale my involvement to match your stage and needs.

I operate remote-first and work best with teams that value written clarity, strong execution systems, and rapid iteration.
